OverviewWe are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide onsite and remote technical support across a diverse enterprise environment. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues while delivering exceptional customer service to end users. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, experience supporting multiple operating systems, and a solid understanding of enterprise identity and collaboration platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for end users in a fast-paced enterprise environment.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and peripheral issues.Support and administer Windows 10, macOS, Ubuntu Linux, and Chrome OS devices.Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other end-user technologies.Manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships within Active Directory and LDAP environments.Support enterprise collaboration and productivity tools, including Google Workspace.Diagnose and resolve networking issues related to VPN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, wireless, and wired network access.Utilize command line tools and scripting utilities to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.Document incidents, service requests, resolutions, and technical procedures within the ticketing system.Prioritize and manage multiple support requests while maintaining service level expectations.Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.Deliver excellent customer service and communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users.Required Qualifications3-5 years of experience in a Desktop Support, IT Support, Systems Administrator, or related technical support role.Strong experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in an enterprise environment.Advanced knowledge of macOS, Windows 10, Ubuntu Linux, and Chrome OS.Experience supporting Google Workspace products in a corporate setting.Working knowledge of networking concepts, including VPN, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and wireless networking.Experience administering Active Directory and LDAP accounts.Proficiency using Command Line Interface (CLI) tools for troubleshooting and system administration.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage competing priorities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with endpoint management tools and device deployment.Knowledge of identity and access management best practices.Familiarity with scripting or automation tools.Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-based environments.SkillsDesktop & End User SupportWindows, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS AdministrationActive Directory & LDAPGoogle WorkspaceVPN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP NetworkingHardware & Software TroubleshootingCustomer Service & User SupportTechnical DocumentationCLI & System DiagnosticsIncident & Ticket ManagementThis role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and supporting users across a diverse technology environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
